6 Secrets To Choosing The Perfect Evening Bag For A Night Out

6 Secrets To Choosing The Perfect Evening Bag For A Night Out

by: Rex Freiberger

After a hard day's work, there's nothing more exciting to do than hit the town at night. Don a sexy and sophisticated outfit, put on your stilettos, grab an evening bag and get out the door!

But wait, don't just grab any evening bag. You may be wearing the perfect outfit but if you're carrying the wrong purse, your total look is ruined. It may sound like an exaggeration but it isn't.

You can always go for the classic evening bag—black, shiny, and small—and be done with it. It is a safe choice, although it's not always the right one. If your outfit is already black to begin with, you run the risk of looking boring. But why would you want that? You're on a night out to relax and have fun. Let your evening bag reflect the high spirits you're in.

On the other hand, if you pair up a very funky evening bag with an already busy outfit, you're bound to catch everyone's attention for all the wrong reasons. You'll end up looking like a fashion victim who's trying too hard.

The secret is finding the balance, and here are some easy tips to help you find it:

>>1. Spice up a plain outfit with a brightly colored evening bag.

Don't be afraid of prints, trimmings, and all that jazz! You have the license to carry an eye-catching bag if your outfit is austere. A little black dress comes alive with an evening bag decorated with red and gold sequins.

>>2. On the other hand, go for a plain and sleek evening bag if your outfit has loud prints and trims. The bag will tone down the busy design of what you're wearing. You'll manage to look trendy and classy at the same time. If you're wearing a Pucci-print dress, a suede evening bag in solid brown will complement the brazen quality of your outfit.

>>3. Ditch the one-texture look because it makes you look like you're wearing a costume.

If you're wearing a metallic top, carry an evening bag with a matte finish. Going metallic from head to toe is just overdoing it. The same goes with other textures.

>>4. Size does matter.

Evening bags are tiny to begin with, but they're still meant to carry your essential stuff. Besides, a lot of evening bags are more spacious inside than they seem from the outside. Your bag should be large enough to carry the basics: lip gloss, compact, cell phone, driver's license, keys, credit card, and a few bills.

>>5. Various evening bags differ not only in design and color but in the way they are carried.

Some bags have straps or handles while others don't. Deciding on what kind to choose depends on the items you'll bring and the activities you'll do. If you're worried about losing your stuff, an evening bag with a strap is good choice. You can keep your bag close to you and still have your hands for eating dinner. If you're planning to hit the dance floor, you can go for a clutch bag. You can easily leave it on the table. When you're done, you can just as easily pick it up.

>>6. To really make an impact, your evening bag should not only complement your outfit, but it should also be a beautiful and unique accessory on its own right. Evening bags made of exotic and rich materials like pineapple fiber and Thai silk provide any outfit the added pizzazz an ordinary bag just can't give. The best thing about them is they're not expensive in spite of their high quality. They're just usually hard to find, but thanks to online stores like Siam Sensibilities, they're made more accessible than ever.

There tips mentioned above are not really clear-cut rules. They're just guidelines to help you make an informed decision. But in the end, it's all up to you. Let yourself go! Feel free to experiment. Mix leather and lace. Go for sequins and feathers. Just don't do it all at once. Surely, there will be other nights to try other combinations.

How To Create Charisma With Colors And Style

How To Create Charisma With Colors And Style

by: Sue Brubaker

Ever seen all those celebrities on television and how they just exude so much radiance and magnetism, that you cannot help but stay glued watching them? What is it about them that keep them attractive and desirable?

The answer is one word: charisma. The process on how to achieve and possess such similar charismatic flair involves another word: colors.

The following are basic tips and advice to help you have your own charisma with the use of colors and style techniques.

First things first, know yourself.

It helps to get the varied opinions of people who know you best. Ask around and interview family members, friends, relatives, or colleagues, and try to make them give an opinion – an honest one of course – of what it is they think are the colors that best suit you. Alternatively, you could always ask and engage the services of a consultant that specializes on image enhancement.

Such a professional could readily determine the kind of colors that work best for your particular eye color and tone of your skin, as well as your hair.

Choose the colors that work best for you.

A very effective way to test which colors are best for your skin is to face a mirror, preferably with natural available daylight, while holding a fabric or a piece of clothing under your chin or beside your eyes. Now, observe which stands out. Does the color stand out or do your features stand out?

Appropriate colors should focus more on you, and not on the dress or garment. If you have eyes as blue as the ocean, then wearing a dress that is similarly blue in color will help make your very own eyes attractive and stand out.

Wrong colors are those that make your appearance dull. It may even look repulsive, or it could cast a shadow on you. Wrong colors also give people the impression that you are sick or tired, even if you feel perfectly fine.

Apply prints and shapes.

Prints in any garments you plan to wear should just as well be proportionate to your physical features, as based on the naturalness of your body’s geometry. If your features are between medium to small, it is just as perfect that any patterns or jewelry you are to wear are sized in a similar manner.

Also, your face’s shape and features should also determine the shapes and kinds of accessories you are to wear. Oval faces may just as well wear oval earrings as well. However, a combination of features is present sometimes. Eyes that are oval sometimes belong to a face with a chin that is square. Look in the mirror and analyze what goes best with what.

Layer your clothes.

Sometimes, this is the best recourse for anyone, so as not to appear overly dressed or under dressed for the occasion. Wearing layers makes it convenient for anyone to take off that scarf, jacket, or tie, so as not to appear too formal.

Overall, practice makes perfect. Eventually, getting used to the colors you have on you will make you more confident and attractive, as you get to determine which makes you feel more magnetic and charismatic. The important thing is being comfortable with your own skin, your own color, and your own style. Work on those features, enhancing them without the need to change them. You are unique; embrace your uniqueness. That charisma cannot be bought or sold.

Tips For Wearing Perfume

Tips For Wearing Perfume

by: Marilyn Pokorney

Perfumes can be fun to wear. Here are some tips on buying and using perfumes.

>>When buying perfume always try a sample. Wear it for about 10 minutes before deciding if you like it. This allows the alcohol to evaporate and the oils in perfumes to interact with the oil on the skin and will be a little different for everyone.

>>Try samples in the late afternoon. The power of smell is stronger during that time of day.

>>When starting a new perfume always use it on only one small area of skin. If there is an allergy to any of the ingredients it's the safest way to discover it. After an hour, if there is no reaction, the perfume is safe to wear.

>>When wearing perfume put it on the pulse points. The inner wrists, behind the knee, and below the jawline near the ears. The pulse sends out the scent.

>>Perfume will keep fresher longer if you store it in a cool, dark place since sunlight and heat interact with the oils in the perfume.

>>When testing or wearing perfume don't rub the wrists together. It lessens the effect of the perfume.

>>Don't apply perfume to clothing or jewelry. It can cause stains and even damage jewelry.

>>Don't wear one perfume all year all. Temperatures affect the scent. Cold temperatures reduce the intensity of the perfume so wear stronger scents in the winter.

>>In the summer wear lighter scents. But be warned, bees can be lured to the perfume mistaking it for flowers.

>>Once you open a bottle of perfume wear it! It will keep indefinitely when not opened but......... once the air has gained entrance to the perfume, it must be used within a year or two at the maxium.

Choosing A Hair Color According To Your Skin Tone

Choosing A Hair Color According To Your Skin Tone

by: Pat McGuire

Have you ever seen a woman with a hair color you absolutely loved—you asked her what color it was, she told you and you went right out and bought the same color. You applied it according to directions—and your hair looked completely wrong. I’ve learned the hard way that unless I have similar skin tone to the woman wearing the color I love, I will save myself a lot of grief if I just complement her on her great color, and let it go.

It is not just a matter of finding a color that looks great on the box. Your skin tone, your eye color, and your natural hair color must be considered when you look for a hair color for you.

First, and most important, you need to determine whether your skin tone is warm or cool. The best way to determine this is to stand by a window and hold your inner arm next to a sheet of white paper.

Is your skin primarily tan, peachy or gold? Or does your medium skin have a greenish undertone? If you are brown-skinned, is there a gold or cinnamon undertone? If so, then your skin tone is warm.

Your eye color is probably green, hazel, golden brown, or red-brown. You might have gold or brown fleck in your eyes. Your natural hair color as a child could have ranged from a natural golden blonde, strawberry blonde to red, golden brown or a deep brown with gold or red highlights. As you gray, your hair probably has a yellow cast. These are attributes of warm skin people.

If your skin has a cool tone, your arm will appear bluish next to the white paper. Your skin will have a pink undertone. If your skin is brown it will be a deep brown or a black brown. Your eyes will be blue, gray, hazel with white or blue flecks, or very dark brown. As a child, your hair color could have been very pale blonde, or a darker blonde, or a medium to dark brown that did not look gold in the sun; or your hair would have been coffee-colored, or blue-black. Your hair, as it grays, turns white. These are all cool tones.

The trick to getting a hair color that looks good on you, is to stay with the skin tone God gave you. People with warm skin tones look best in warm colors. Cool skin tones look best with cool colors. Choosing a hair that does not complement your natural coloring will result in an unpleasant disharmony, no matter how pretty the color is on the box. If the natural undertone of your hair is warm, and you try putting a cool blue or violet-based hair color on it, it is somewhat like mixing yellow and blue. Your hair will probably have a greenish cast.

If you read the labels on the hair coloring boxes, most will give you a clue as to whether they are warm or cool colors. The word “ash” on a label means cool. As discussed in the previous paragraph, if your coloring is warm, don’t use an “ash”, or you may wind up getting green looking hair.

You can color your hair any color you would like. Blonde, red, brown, gray and black all come in warm or in cool tones. The safest way is to follow your skin tone and choose a color that goes with that tone. You can go lighter, darker, or intensify—just stay with the same tone.

The same goes for highlighting your hair. Warm-toned people lighten with pale gold, bright gold, russet, warm brown. Cool-toned people lighten with white, platinum, cocoa.

Even the exciting crayon-color accents that you see on young people can coordinate with skin tone. There are yellows, oranges, lime-greens, and rusts for the warm-toned, and fuchsia, electric blue, purple and black for the cool-toned.

Bare Essentials Makeup Revealed

Bare Essentials Makeup Revealed

by: Alison Saunders

Make sure that you cleanse your skin before using bare essentials makeup. It is worthwhile for you to know some of the bare essential information about what can invade your skin. Small infections called pustules which are provoked by staphylococci in the area where the hair protrudes through the skin which is a channel in which fat produced by salacious glands flow. Often these pustules are dilated and they contain impurities such as bacteria, fats, which are visible as black pimples. In the event of a Staphylococcus infection, firstly you will notice a red area around the poly sebaceous follicle and in the middle pustules will be formed.

Pimples

Pimples appear in the case of the acne, a disease which is a consequence of a lack of balance of internal secretion glands, of the gastro-intestinal and hepatic trouble, of the suprarenal insufficiency, of the hypothyroid, or trouble of the neurovegetative system. Because this disease has different causes, you should consult a skin specialist, in order to understand a diagnosis and to follow the right treatment. A great majority of the people who have pimples are tempted to burst them them immediately, without taking hygiene measures, which leads to the infection of the skin and to a breeding of the pimples.

In the case of the treatment recommended by the doctor, the hygiene of the face also has an important role. Don't touch your face with dirty hands. Your face will be washed with warm water and bare essentials soap, twice a day, and in the evening you will wipe it with Bare Essentials Makeup alcoholic, degreasing lotions. In the local treatment you will use special bare essentials powders based on sulphur or zinc oxide. The black pimples must be regularly removed because they provoke pustules.

Freckles are small, round spots which appear especially in spring, when the sun shines more brightly. They are more frequently seen in the case of blond or red-haired people, more rarely in the case of dark-haired ones and their favorite areas are the face, the arms and the neck opening.

About Freckles

To stop the occurrence of freckles, you can use a Bare Essentials Makeup lotion, to wipe the face before going to bed, based on maillot water, Rose water and ammonium chloride. In order to treat the freckles you can use Bare Essentials Makeup oxidant substances which action more slowly, but they don't harm the complexion, and which contain perhidrol, natrium per borates, magnesium peroxide, hydroquinone etc. For dry complexions there are recommended bare essentials creams based on lanolin. These creams must be applied on the clean complexion and they must be kept there during the night too.

In some cases Bare Essentials Makeup stores offer you more active substances like mercury and bismuth salt, which action by deactivating some skin pigments. These will be used under medical control or following the advice of a bare essential cosmetician, because they can produce irritations, therefore their long lasting use may be harmful.

You can also use Bare Essentials Makeup masks based on beer yeast, oxygenated water, egg white, lemon juice, yoghurt, acid uric milk and in general substances which make the face white and clean it. For those who present a predisposition for freckle occurrence, bare essentials cosmetics recommend lotions based on water, vinegar or lemon juice. They can be used in the case of dry complexion, but after a few hours you will apply a bare essentials makeup fat cream. The general rule is that no freckle treatment will be applied around the eyes, as that area will be greased with special bare essentials nourishing creams.

Dealing With Wrinkles

Wrinkles appear because the skin loses in time its suppleness and its normal smooth texture. Firstly you can expect to see vertical and horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, then wrinkles around our eyes. Following that you can expect to see some wrinkles around your mouth, these creases start from the nose and they are extended until the corners of your mouth, then appear little vertical wrinkles above the upper lip and your eyelids get wrinkles too. It sounds terrifying, doesn't it? Wrinkles don't necessarily appear only when we get older. They appear because of other factors: cold, heat, humidity, temperature variations. when we contract the muscles in our face too much they will appear.

Do Moods Affect Wrinkles?

Our moods and state of mind play a big part in the course and occurrence of wrinkles, emotions such as sadness worry and depression can have a detrimental effect on wrinkles. When we are in a good mood, blood flows more quickly and helps to nourish the skin and when we laugh 13 muscles are activated but when we are depressed 60 muscles are activated. Too much sun has a very adverse effect on our skin but if you must spend time in the sun make sure you use the special bare essentials makeup protective lotion which guards against sunburn. We can even protect our eyes by using bare essentials sunglasses, they are equipped with super high quality lenses.

To conclude , if you try Bare Essentials Makeup cosmetic products you won't have pimples , or freckles , or wrinkles , only a shiny , fresh complexion

Anti-aging Tips

Nine Anti-aging Tips To Stay Younger Longer
by: Barbara Morris, R.Ph.

Can’t figure out where to start to improve the quality of your lifestyle? Here are some simple things to help get started. If you can follow the suggestions for a month, you will be well on your way to reducing belly fat AND establishing an anti-aging lifestyle. It’s not difficult – if you really want to do it. Remember, these are baby steps, but you have to start some place.

1. Check your fridge. If you use butter, you can use less by diluting it half-and-half with olive oil. Let a bar of butter soften to room temperature. Beat it smooth and gradually beat in an equal amount of olive oil. It will be runny but will set up to a soft spread in the fridge.

2. Rethink the mayo. If you can’t live without it, make your own with olive oil. Then you will really have something worthwhile to spread on bread or to make a salad.

3. If you eat peanut butter, buy Smart Balance peanut butter for it’s omega- 3 content. If you are not taking an omega-3 supplement, you should.

4. Keep a gallon bottle of water on the kitchen counter or at work. Drink at least half of it every day. Having it in plain sight will help you drink more of it.

5. Check your pantry. Don’t restock chips, cookies, soda, toaster pastries, sugary breakfast “cereals” (a misnomer if ever there was one!) It’s just as quick and easy to scramble a couple of eggs for breakfast as it is to wait for a pastry to toast. I know how tough it is to get rid of the nutritionally bankrupt junk, so do it in small steps if you can’t do it cold turkey.

6. Substitute whole grain bread for white bread. Beware of “wheat” bread – it’s probably not whole wheat. If possible, go to a whole foods market and get some real whole wheat bread. In my area, I can buy incredibly good whole grain bread from Alvarado Street Bakery. You can buy it online, and if you do, put it in the freezer the minute it arrives. Because it’s “live” and preservative free, it will get moldy very quickly if you leave it out. I particularly enjoy the Alvarado sprouted whole grain bread.

7. Having a whole foods market nearby makes it easy to cut down on processed food. If you make a trip a couple of times a week you can get all the super-fresh veggies and fruit you will need to provide a healthier diet for your family. For protein, focus on chicken – preferably baked or roasted. I use a lot of ground turkey – you can prepare it so many ways. If you work and are pressed for time, many whole foods markets offer excellent take out. It may cost more but it's usually worth it.

You will notice I did not mention fish. I rarely buy fish because it’s so difficult to get good fish. If I can’t get wild salmon or other fish that hasn’t been farm raised, I don’t bother. I would never eat shrimp because it causes too many intestinal problems. There is another way to get the benefits of eating fish – in fish oil capsules. True, you run the risk of contamination there as well. But I think I’d rather opt for the capsules than supermarket fish that looks like it’s seen better days, and probably has.

8. Skip fried anything as much as possible. And you certainly won’t need your deep fat fryer anymore, so throw it away. (Well okay, give it away. But you won’t be doing anyone a favor.)

9. If you are an emotional eater, eat unbuttered popcorn or dry roasted nuts, such as almonds or cashews. You can flavor popcorn with garlic salt or any seasoning of your choice. Or try spritzing on garlic flavored olive oil. Drink green tea to wash it down. Most commercial green teas are bitter or tasteless but I have found some very tasty teas at Clipper teas.

This should be more than enough to help you start to live a healthier, anti-aging lifestyle. Start with at least one step and add others as you develop a system you will stick with.

Choosing The Right Perfume

Practical Tips On Choosing The Right Perfume
by: Roberto Sedycias

Perfume is considered to be one of the most must-haves for any status-conscious person in any society. Initially, it was being used by the upper-class society as a high-end accessory; but, later it became available even to the most common person in the society. In the modern age, the use of perfume has become virtually indispensable as it potentially adds to the personality of a person.

The history and background of perfume can be traced back to the ancient times of Egypt. The word `Perfume` has been coined by the combination of two Latin words such as `Per` (Through) and `Fume` (Smoke). The art of making perfumes took place in ancient Egypt but it was the Romans and the Arabs who improved it subsequently. There are many procedures being followed these days for making the modern perfumes but the most general process is extracting oils from flowers by distillation which was introduced by an Iranian doctor named Avicenna.

Usually, the exact formulae of making perfumes and fragrances are kept confidential by the designer houses; however, some perfume specialists are skilled enough to identify the ingredients, components and origins of the perfume and scents. At the present day, France is dominating the European perfume design and trade industry, and the `Perfumery` has become one of the most potentially profitable businesses in the world.

How to pick the right perfume?

Choosing the right perfume and fragrance has become increasingly difficult for the customers as the cosmetic market is being invaded by numerous new perfumes and scent brands each and every day. Now a days, perfumes and fragrances can be found in different flavors and ingredients. They are being manufactured and offered in bottles of different shapes and sizes according to the needs of the targeted customers. While visiting a cosmetic store, a customer often gets confused about what could be the right one for him/her. However, there are some guidelines if followed can help those confused customers remove their doubts and select the right perfume for them.

They are as follows:

Skin:

Try different perfumes and fragrances to know what suits your skin the best. No two perfumes are alike in fragrance, flavor and smell. Hence what suits the most, may not necessarily suit you. Do not just blindly follow the branded perfumes. It really pays to try different perfumes before you settle for one.

Smell:

Always go for a perfume that contains fresh smells and makes you attractive and impressive. Have your best friend (preferably female) give his/her views on the particular perfume you are trying. Often, it is the other person who can tell you what goes right with you.

Ingredients and Flavors:

Perfumes can be selected using different ingredients and flavors. They are different categories of perfumes such as woody perfume, fruit perfume, floral perfume, oceanic perfume, greens perfume and oriental perfume. Usually, each of these fragrances is suitable for a male or female depending on their personal preference. However, you can always go for one that best suits your personality and life-style.

Climate and Season:

While choosing a perfume, one should consider the climate and season. What goes best in the winter may not be even good enough in the summer. Hence, it is extremely important to choose the perfume that does justice to the climate and to your skin.

Moreover, perfumes should be selected as per the occasions and festivals too. For instance, a particular perfume may be just perfect for a birthday party you are attending, but when it comes to a boardroom meeting you have choose a different one.
